JAWI Overview
Jabatan Agama Wilayah Persekutuan (JAWI) or Federal Territory Islamic Religious Department, initially established in the name of the Secretariat of the Council with a view to relieving the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Council (religious council). It was established on February 1, 1974.When the Ministry of Federal Territories (KWP) was established in 1978, the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Department (Jawi) was placed under the Ministry. However, in 1987 the Ministry has been abolished.
