It was 1980. With ten thousand ringgit and a team seconded by PETRONAS’ Personnel Department, we were tasked to start and sustain a cooperative that provides financial aid to its members. We knew it would be challenging, but we also saw an opprtunity to touch and benefit many. Some 30 years later, Koperasi Kakitangan PETRONAS Berhad (KOPETRO) is regarded as one of the top 10 cooperative among more than 10,000 cooperatives in Malaysia..
