Overview
In 1904, the Local Authority was known at this time as Batang Padang Sanitary Board and was gazetted under Government Gazette No1077/1904.Then, in 1923, a new division located at Jalan Raja Itam, Tanjong Malim, known as Tanjong Malim Sanitary Board (TMSB) was created under the control of Batang Padang Sanitary Board.Tanjong Malim District Council was established 1979 pursuant to Section 3 Local Government Act 1976 (Act 171). The Council’s area is 10,140 hectare with an estimated population of 33,393.
