Star Publications Overview
Star Publications was founded in 1971. The Company set up its office in Penang and The Star newspaper is the Malaysia’s first provincial tabloid English newspaper. It was the first newspaper to introduce the modern method (at that time) of newspaper production – electronic typewriters and offset printing. In 1976, The Star graduated from a regional newspaper to a national daily.
